Convicted Madonna Stalker On The Loose
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Robert Dewey Hoskins, a man convicted of stalking and making criminal threats against singing star Madonna, walked away from the Metropolitan State Hospital in Norwalk and is being sought, police said Thursday.
Hoskins, 54, walked away from the hospital last Friday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Hoskins was shot by a Madonna bodyguard in the 1990s. He stalked her around California and reportedly threatened to cut her "from ear to ear" if she didn't agree to marry him. He was arrested May 1995.
At trial in 1996, Madonna said that being in the same room as Hoskins made her sick to her stomach. She also testified that Hoskins, who repeatedly scaled her fence, made her have nightmares.
He was sentenced to ten years in prison for making the threats, assault and stalking.
