Congressman Adam Schiff To Hold Town Hall Forum On Gun Violence In West Hollywood
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A town hall forum on gun violence will be held Wednesday night in West Hollywood.
Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff from Burbank told KNX 1070 he will convene and moderate the meeting.
"I want to get the feedback from the people of Los Angeles," Schiff said. "They ought to have the opportunity to weigh in and let their elected representatives know what they think about what can be done about gun violence."

Almost four months after a mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, several gun control measures have been introduced and stalled in Congress.
"Universal background checks enjoy about 90% support of the public, but the majority of the public also supports a ban on assault weapons and a ban on high capacity clips," Schiff said. "It's a pretty sad state of affairs when that what the country wants, the country can't get through its selected representatives."
The forum is a platform for residents to discuss the causes and solutions of gun violence.
"We hope to get further input, it's obviously got to be comprehensive in the sense that it's got to deal with some of the most destructive weapons, it's got to deal with background checks, it's got to deal with mental health issues – a whole gamut in order to tackle a problem this big," Schiff said.
The meeting will be held at the West Hollywood City Council Chambers from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
