Compton Pursuit Suspects Reportedly Fired At Deputies With AK-47
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Two shooting suspects reportedly fired at deputies with an AK-47 during a short pursuit in South Los Angeles Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to a call about two gunshot victims at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Pine Street in Lynwood around 5:45 p.m.
When officials arrived on the scene, they didn't find the injured parties, but spotted two possible suspects in a nearby car.
A chase ensued and deputies were immediately greeted with gunfire from the assault rifle. No one was injured.
The pursuit ended when the suspects' vehicle crashed into another car at the corner of El Segundo Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue in Compton.
The two men fled the area, but were later taken into custody.
Deputies said they recovered the AK-47 in the street.
The Lynwood shooting victims were taken to the hospital in unknown conditions.
