Compton Man Arrested In Beating Death Of Girl, 2
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say a Compton man has been arrested on suspicion of the fatal beating of his live-in girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Guillermina Saldana says 29-year-old Omar Zarate Gutierrez was taken into custody Wednesday after detectives learned that the child died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen.
The girl was found dead in the couple's Compton apartment on Friday.
The Los Angeles Times reports her body had traces of bite marks and bruises and her scalp had raw sores and missing hair.
Zarate Gutierrez is being held without bail.
