Composite Sketch Of Would-Be Kidnapper In Venice Released
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police released a composite sketch Wednesday of a man who tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl in Venice, who may have also tried to commit the same crime in Torrance.
Los Angeles police say the description of a man who tried to kidnap a 13-year-old girl on Lincoln Boulevard is similar to an incident that happened in Torrance on Oct. 16.
The Venice suspect approached the girl in a white, four-door sedan and asked her if she needed a ride. After she declined, the man got out and grabbed the girl's arm and pulled her toward the car, police said. The girl was able to get away after screaming and kicking the suspect.
In Torrance, a 16-year-old girl was walking to school at North High on Oct. 16 when she was approached by a man in a silver or gray Honda with four doors. The man demanded she get into his car several times and even offered her money, the teen told CBS2's Serene Branson. The man left the scene after she met with a friend.
The Venice suspect is described a white man about 35 to 40 years old, 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds.
