Cleanup Efforts Under Way In Some Inland Empire, High Desert Communities

VICTORVILLE (CBSLA.com) — Cleanup efforts were under way in some communities in the Inland Empire and the High Desert on Saturday, a day after fierce thunderstorms flooded streets and stranded drivers.

The area of Victorville received nearly an inch of rain on Friday turning streets into rivers.

The flash flooding hit businesses, homes and schools.

KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO's Ed Mertz says at least three campuses in the Adelanto School District were affected.

Adam O'Connor, a lead custodian, said "we had ten rooms that flooded. Some of them were worse than others, obviously." O'Connor added that in one of the rooms there was, "nothing but water from one end to the other."
