Classic Baseball Film 'The Sandlot' To Screen At Dodger Stadium On Sept. 1 Following Game

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The first Dodger game and movie night, which featured the film "42" following the Dodgers-Rockies game, was such a success, the Dodgers will be treating their fans to another one.

On Sunday Sept. 1, after the Dodgers host the San Diego Padres for a ball game starting at 1:10 p.m., the Dodgers will screen the classic baseball film, "The Sandlot".

The cult classic movie, which is celebrating it's 20th anniversary this year, is considered one of the greatest baseball movies of all time.

Directed, narrated, and co-written by David Mickey Evans, "The Sandlot" features stars like James Earl Jones, Denis Leary, and Karen Allen.

A number of the movie's stars will be in attendance for the ball game and for the screening.

Patrick Renna "Ham", Chauncey Leopardi "Squints", Marty York "Yeah-Yeah", Grant Gelt "Bertram", "Victor DiMattia "Timmy", Shane Obedinski "Tommy", and Daniel Zacapa "Police Chief" are expected to be among those on hand.

A Q & A session is schedules on the field with Evans and the cast prior to the screening.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment will be donating $25,000 to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation to refurbish it's 29th Dodger Dreamfield in 2013.

A ticket to the game includes the screening of the movie following the game's conclusion.
