Firefighters Knock Down 5-Acre Brush Fire In Claremont
CLAREMONT (CBSLA.com) – The L.A. County Fire Department knocked down a 5-acre fire in Claremont Thursday evening.
A brush fire erupted near North Mountain Avenue around 8 p.m.
Firefighters called a knockdown approximately 45 minutes later, meaning they stopped the flames' forward progress.
The fire had dropped to 1.5 acres by 11 p.m. and was 100 percent contained.
Mandatory evacuations issued in the area were later lifted.
