City Of Riverside, Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive For Tornado Victims
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — The city of Riverside and the American Red Cross are holding a blood drive to benefit tornado victims in the South.
"Riverside expresses concern and sympathy to those impacted," Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge said. "According to the Red Cross, blood is needed to respond to this disaster."
The day-long blood drive will be held Wednesday, May 11, at Renck Community Center, 4015 Jackson St.
Donors can arrive as early as 9 a.m. They will receive free tickets to an L.A. Galaxy game, as well as tickets to the Laugh Factory.
Hundreds of people have been killed by tornadoes that ravaged communities in Alabama, Oklahoma and Virginia.
