CHP Pursuit Ends Horrifically With Suspect Cyclist Crashing Head-On Into Car
GLENDALE (CBLA.com) — A CHP pursuit of a suspect on a motorcycle ended horrifically Sunday when the cyclist crashed head-on into a vehicle.
Officers concerned about the public's safety had just reportedly called off the chase when speeds got too fast.
They say that is when the cyclist crossed into on-coming traffic and crashed at N. Verdugo Road and Glorietta Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle, a white BMW, had minor injuries.
The cyclist was reportedly in very bad condition, said one witness. The impact of the crash was so strong, the motorcycle was shattered and created a large debris field.
One caller told CBS2 that there was "a pretty horrific" scene.
Glendale Police is now handling the investigation.
There is no word on what the suspect was originally wanted for.
