Carjacking Suspect Arrested Following High-Speed Pursuit In Simi Valley
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — California Highway Patrol officers were involved in a pursuit Wednesday afternoon involving a carjacking suspect.
The pursuit began around 11:35 a.m. on the 14 Freeway south of Vasquez Canyon near Agua Dulce, Officer Clive Sheen said.
A CHP officer ran the plates on the four-door sedan while it was traveling on the 14 and discovered it was wanted in connection with a carjacking.
Officers attempted to stop the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male around 25 years old, and a pursuit ensued.
The suspect, driving at speeds topping 105 mph, took officers on the 14, 5 and 118 freeways for nearly an hour.
The pursuit ended at 12:24 p.m. when a CHP officer performed a PIT maneuver. The suspect exited the vehicle and was taken into custody.
