Children's Hospital Warns Christmas Toys Pose Choking Risk
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Consumer safety advocates are urging parents to use caution in choosing safer toys for their kids this Christmas after an estimated 250,000 children were sent to emergency rooms last year for toy-related injuries, including 12 fatal cases.
While there does remain a significant risk from lead-tainted toys, the annual "Trouble in Toyland" report from the California Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG) highlights several types of toys that pose a risk to children.
