Cheap In LA: San Antonio Winery
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Want to hit the town with your significant other for Valentine's Day, but don't want to spend a fortune?
Look no further than the San Antonio Winery, located just a mile south of downtown Los Angeles.
The oldest producing winery in the city, which was owned by the Riboli families for 95 years, offers complimentary tastings.
"I tasted some wine I never tasted before and it was delicious," a woman told KCAL9's Sharon Tay.
The winery also offers free tours to show people how wine is made, aged, processed, and bottled.
And don't be surprised to hear a little bit of history on the daily tours, too.
"Many people don't know that (Southern California) was the heart of winemaking and grape-growing in California…up to basically, Prohibition," said a San Antonio Winery employee.
