Charlie Sifford Inducted Into SCGA Hall Of Fame
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif (CBS) - Tuesday afternoon at the Sheraton Hotel in Universal City, native Southern Californian Amy Alcott, and adopted Angelino, Charlie Sifford were inducted in the SCGA Hall of Fame.
Having already won the Long Beach open in 1957, in 1961, Sifford broke the color barrier on the PGA tour, winning twice, including the L.A. open.
Nearing his 90th birthday, Sifford has mixed feelings about comparisons to Jackie Robinson.
