Chargers Remove Last Of Their San Diego Signage
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — After 55 seasons in San Diego, the last evidence of the Chargers calling that city home is gone.
The team's sign and logo was removed Wednesday from Chargers Park at their headquarters off Murphy Canyon Road. Everything Chargers has been removed from Qualcomm Stadium as well. In January, Chargers President Dean Spanos announced he would move the team to Los Angeles, a homecoming of sorts since the Chargers played their first season at the L.A. Coliseum in 1960.
The Los Angeles Chargers will play their home games at the StubHub Center in Carson and practice in Costa Mesa. They will eventually share a new stadium with the Rams in 2020 in Inglewood.
The Chargers open the preseason against the Seattle Seahawks at 5 p.m. Aug. 13.
