Cerritos Man Fatally Struck On 105 Freeway While Changing Tire
PARAMOUNT (CBSLA.com) — A 54-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle while changing a tire on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway.
CHP Officer Monica Posada says the collision on the westbound side of the freeway just west of Garfield Avenue was reported at 4:04 a.m. Saturday.
The deceased, identified as a man from Cerritos, was stopped in the gore point of the westbound 105 Freeway to the Long Beach (710) ramp changing the left rear tire of his vehicle when authorities say he was struck by a 2007 Toyota Tundra.
The driver of the Tundra reportedly stopped on the right shoulder of the transition road and allegedly fled the scene on foot, according to a statement issued by the CHP.
An investigation is under way.
No further information was immediately available.
