Celebrities, Fans Post Tributes To Robin Williams On Anniversary Of His Death
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Celebrities and fans shared memories of Hollywood icon Robin Williams on Tuesday, marking the one-year anniversary of his death.
In particular, one tribute that was posted by Sarah Michelle Gellar for her former television father caught the attention of many from across the world.
Gellar posted a photo on Instagram of the bench from "Good Will Hunting," accompanied by a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson that reads in part: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded."
Others from across the world also paid their respects online to the brilliant actor.

On July 20, Williams' daughter, Zelda, posted a photo on her Instagram account with a caption that reads: "On another note, I will be taking a break from social media in the coming weeks. It's a time better served away from the opinions or sentiments of others, and I appreciate your understanding."
Williams was found unconscious on the morning of Aug. 11, 2014, in his bedroom at his home in unincorporated Tiburon in Northern California.
According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, the Oscar-winning actor was pronounced dead at the age of 63-years-old.
Williams' death was officially ruled a suicide that resulted from asphyxia due to hanging.
According to the autopsy report, there was no evidence of alcohol or illegal drugs in his system when he committed suicide.
A few days after his death, Williams' wife, Susan Schneider, released a statement explaining he "was not yet ready to share publicly" that he was in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease.
Despite his battle with depression and anxiety, the actor was able to channel his energy into any role.
The talented funnyman was nominated for three Academy Awards, and won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role in "Good Will Hunting."
Williams also won four Golden Globes for his roles in "Mork & Mindy," "Good Morning, Vietnam," "Mrs. Doubtfire," and "The Fisher King."
Two Emmy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and five Grammys were also received within his career.
Williams leaves behind his children Zak, Zelda and Cody.
