Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds Laid To Rest Together
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One of Hollywood's most famous mother-daughter duos were laid to rest together in a joint service on Friday.
Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher were buried at Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn.
Todd Fisher -- Carrie's brother and Reynolds' son -- said he worked with Billie Lourd, Fisher's daughter, on a shared funeral, CBS2's Kara Finnstrom reported.
Fisher, 60, was best known for her role as Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" franchise. She died on Dec. 27 after suffering cardiac arrest while on a flight from London to Los Angeles.
Reynolds, a screen icon, died the next day of an apparent stroke.
"And so they're together," said Todd, "and they will be together here and in Heaven."
A private service was held Thursday at the private compound where the mother-daughter duo lived next door to each other.
Fisher told CBS2 that today's service was small and intimate and just for family but in the near future the family planned something more public.
In Fisher's spirit of humor and ability to poke fun of herself and her bi-polar disorder, her ashes were contained in -- one of her favorite possessions -- a giant Prozac pill.
