Carjacking Victim In Moreno Valley Robbery, Pursuit Speaks Out
ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — The victim who was carjacked Wednesday by one of the suspects connected to a Moreno Valley robbery and high-speed pursuit is speaking out about the ordeal.
The man, who asked to remain unidentified, said he didn't want to talk in detail about what happened.
He spoke to KCAL9's Randy Paige through the front door of his home in Orange.
Paige asked if he was injured.
"Yeah, my knees and my face. (I fell on the ground)," the victim responded.
The man said he was happy when he heard his car was recovered by police.
"That felt so good because my cellphone was inside my car," the victim said.
The incident began around 3 p.m. Wednesday when four masked men armed with handguns robbed Empire Jewelry and Loan and shot an employee.
The suspects, including another man in an awaiting Lexus, fled the scene.
California Highway Patrol officers spotted the vehicle and began chase when the suspects refused to stop in Riverside.
The five men finally bailed out of the car in front of Cal State Fullerton.
Damine Banks, 30, and Jerome Allen, 23, of Los Angeles were arrested.
A third suspect, 24-year-old Traevon Vidaud, carjacked a vehicle owned by the man Paige spoke to Thursday.
Vidaud then led police on another pursuit before being captured in Watts.
Meantime, the two remaining suspects were believed to have run onto the Cal State Fullerton campus, which prompted officials to lock down the school until midnight.
Those men are still at large.
