Carjacking Suspect Commits Suicide After Firing At Deputies in Lynwood
LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A carjacking suspect was found dead Tuesday after he and an accomplice stole a vehicle and fired at deputies in Lynwood.

Carjacking Suspect Commits Suicide After Firing At Deputies in Lynwood
The suspects stole a Lexus sedan around 2:30 a.m. in Compton and later crashed it at Fernwood Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard, near the 105 Freeway off-ramp, in Lynwood, Sgt. Rick Rector of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
After the vehicle crashed, one of the suspects opened fire on deputies and fled the scene, officials said.
The deputies did not return fire and were not injured.
One suspect was arrested. The suspect who fled the scene shot himself to death inside a Ford Explorer.
The on- and off-ramps of the 105 Freeway at Long Beach Boulevard were closed for several hours while authorities investigated.
