Car-mageddon.com: Offering Angelenos Deals To Survive The 405 Closure
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — "It's the price you pay to live in L.A." That is the motto of a new website hoping to curb Angelenos' fears of the impending 405 shutdown.
Car-mageddon.com is looking to put a positive spin on the weekend closure of the world's busiest freeway July 15-18. The website details bars, restaurants and shops near the affected areas offering "Carmageddon" deals.
Here are a few deals on tap: Harvelle's in Santa Monica is offering $5 Irish Car Bombs and Cadillac Margaritas, O'Brien's on Wilshire will have $3 beers and $5 well drinks and Body Wellness on Santa Monica Boulevard is giving stranded Westsiders a free yoga or Pilates class.
Specials are categorized into areas located along the 405: the Westside, Mid City, the Eastside and the Northside and directions to business offering them are also available.
Car-mageddon.com was created by five Santa Monica residents looking to "put a positive spin on an otherwise ominous occasion."
