Car Hits Good Samaritans Helping Motorcyclist Trapped Underneath Car In Lancaster; 1 Killed
LANCASTER (CBSLA) — Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed Sunday around 1:30 a.m. following a crash involving a vehicle in Lancaster.
The rider was trapped underneath a vehicle after the crash, which unfolded at 15th Street and Avenue I.
As Good Samaritans were trying to help, a third vehicle slammed into some parked cars pushing them into each other and a woman standing nearby.
She was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital in critical condition with "major injuries."
The cause of the crash was being investigated but residents told CBS2/KCAL9's Laurie Perez the intersection has been a problem for years.
Seeing images of the initial crash, it's easy to see why people stopped to help. The motorcyclist ended up wedged beneath the truck and the bike was clearly mangled. The pickup also suffered major damage.
Daniel Soto lives just feet from the crash.
"I hear the crash," he told Perez, "really, really bad."
The accident was bad enough that Soto doesn't believe he will ever get the images out of his head.
"I never in my life forget this last night. Really," he says.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
