Altadena Homeowner Crashes Car Into His Pool
ALTADENA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a man was able to extricate himself from his vehicle after crashing it into his pool in Altadena.
The Saturday afternoon accident was reported around noon.
Firefighters were dispatched to the home in the 2700 block of Scripps Place following a report of a person trapped inside their vehicle in their pool.
When crews arrived, they learned the driver had extricated himself from the vehicle.
"He told us that his shoe or sandal got caught in the pedals of the vehicle and drove through the door in the rear part of his garage and into his swimming pool,"
Captain Jeffrey Sims of the Los Angeles County Fire Department told CBS2's Art Barron.
The man was uninjured and declined medical transport.
City News Service reported the man was 85-years-old.
