California Home Sales Drop In April, Foreclosures Slow
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A real estate tracking firm says home sales continued to plunge in California last month but foreclosures made up a smaller segment of the market.
San Diego-based DataQuick reports Monday that an estimated 35,202 new and existing houses and condominiums were sold statewide last month, which was down 3.3 percent from March and down 6.1 percent from April of last year.
The median price for a home was $249,000, unchanged from March but down 2.4 percent from April 2010. It marked the seventh straight month of price declines from year-earlier levels.
