Calif. GOP Delegates React To Reported Romney VP Pick
BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — Delegates at the California Republican Convention in Burbank Friday night were excited about presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's possible running mate.
Romney is expected to announce Saturday that Congressman Paul Ryan from Wisconsin will be his vice presidential pick, according to the Associated Press.
KCAL9's Dave Bryan talked to several state delegates at the Republican convention. They said Ryan would be a fine choice, even though they like other candidates, too.
"I certainly could argue that in California we have a big Latino population and there should be someone like... (Marco) Rubio considered," said Marin County delegate, Vic Canby.
Elissa Wadleigh, a Santa Rosa delegate, said she's excited about the rumored pick.
"I think it's a long time coming. I don't necessarily think, historically, it's late. But I think all of us have been in anticipation of who it's going to be," she said.
"(Ryan) would be wonderful. He's done a great job," said Marjorie Preston, a delegate from Napa.
Bryan reported all the delegates were quick to say Romney's running mate choice would be acceptable no matter what.
