Cal Poly Pomona Fraternity Suspended For Alleged Hazing
POMONA (AP) — Officials say the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at California State Polytechnic University has been suspended over allegations of hazing.
Campus officials say members were blindfolded and branded in December. School spokesman Tim Lynch says one person reported the hazing and another confirmed the details. He would not how many people were involved.
All the fraternity's activities have been suspended and it has been barred from using college facilities. The university's 31 other Greek organizations are being placed on temporary probation while a hazing audit is performed.
Lynch says police are not investigating.
Cal Poly banned Sigma Phi Epsilon a year ago after a pledge was seriously burned when a member threw gasoline on a bonfire.
