Shirtless Burglary Suspect In U-Haul Leads Authorities On Multi-Freeway Chase
ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — A shirtless burglary suspect in a U-Haul truck Wednesday led authorities on a multi-freeway chase through Riverside and Orange counties.
California Highway Patrol officers followed the truck along the 91, 55 and 5 freeways, as well as surface streets, for more than 30 minutes.
The suspect may have stolen the truck — which was traveling at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour — from a U-Haul facility in Riverside.
At one point, he exited the 5 Freeway and nearly lost control of the vehicle after taking a turn too sharply.
He was taken into custody around 11 p.m. on State College Boulevard under Interstate 5.
No other details were immediately available.
