BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — A Burbank man who, on his own volition, admitted his drug use to officers ended up behind bars over the weekend.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reported that Jonathon Killy, 32, called 911 Sunday night and asked to speak to a priest, saying he'd like to make a confession.

Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn said they weren't able to get a priest for Killy, but sent officers to his home.

"When the officers arrived, the individual admitted that he'd been using marijuana and methamphetamine for about a year and that he had a bag of methamphetamine inside his apartment," he said.

Ryburn said Killy told officers that buying the meth every week was very expensive.

"We received calls about confessions, but not a confession for possession of methamphetamine. He did admit to it and, obviously, he needed help," he said.

Killy, who wasn't under the influence when he made the call, is being held on $10,000 bail.
