Budding Criminal Geniuses, Unclear on the Concept

Follow along: Boys burglarize apartment (allegedly). Boys steal video games, CD player, jewelry, and safe (reportedly). Boys are criminal masterminds (not even close). Here's why -- according to the police report-- one of them looked at the other two and said "We can't leave any witnesses." So he deals with the three witnesses, by sending them to sleep with da fishes

Oh wait, they were fishes. Goldfishes. Boy Genius is accused of actually killing three goldfish in the house he'd broken into  -- because he didn't want anyone who could rat him out. Oh, for God's sake.

When the family got home to their suburban Chicago apartment, they saw the place had been broken into, and the fish were belly-up in the tank, that also had hot sauce and mustard mixed in.

Our three masterminds are 15 to 17.  The 16-year-old played the role of the 'cleaner.'  That gave more time for the other two to pawn the goods, which, of course, police traced back to them.
