Brush Fire Prompts Closure Of Highway 126 In Santa Paula
SANTA PAULA (CBSLA.com) — A portion of Highway 126 in Santa Paula was shut down Wednesday afternoon due to a 25-acre fire burning near Briggs Road.
The second-alarm brush fire, which was burning on both sides of the freeway, prompted the closure of the roadway between Peck and Wells roads, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
More than 100 firefighters were called to the scene.
Some agricultural damage may have occurred, according to the VCFD.
More closures and delays can be expected.
