Bree'Anna Guzman's Mother Says She Won't Let Her Daughter's Murder Case Go Cold
ATWATER VILLAGE (CBSLA.com) — Friday marked a painful anniversary for those who knew and loved a woman found dead near a freeway on-ramp 18 months ago.
A candlelight vigil at Riverside Drive near Allesandro Elementary school was planned in honor Bree'Anna Guzman.
Guzman, a Lincoln Heights native, disappeared while walking from her home along the 73000 block of Humboldt Street in Dec. 2011.
The 22-year-old's body was found a month later near the Glendale (2) Freeway on-ramp in Echo Park.
Her mother told CBS2's Suraya Fadel that she's on a mission for justice.
"Basically, my whole theme is 'Justice for Bree.' And we have to keep the case alive," she said. "I'm her mother and I will not let this case go cold … I believe that is what Bree would want me to do and I feel that there definitely is somebody out there who knows something."
A $75,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the assailant; so far, no arrests have been made.
