Breast Cancer Survivor Chronicles Journey
STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — A local breast cancer survivor visited the KCAL9 set to discuss her journey after being diagnosed.
Nicki Boscia Durlester has written a book called. "Beyond the Pink Moon," which chronicles the struggles she faced.
For most of her life, Durlester lived with the knowledge that she is a carrier of the BRCA2 cancer gene.
On October 16, Durlester will be joined by Philanthropist/Producer Nina Montee Kark, surgical breast specialist Dr. Kristi Funk and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Mao Shing Ni, for a book and DVD signing. The event is open to the public. Call (310) 260-0013 to RSVP or for more information.
October marks National Breast Cancer awareness month where several nonprofit groups stress the importance of screening and early detection, as well as raise funds for research.
