Brush Fire Breaks Out In Santa Susana Pass
SIMI VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire has broken out in the Santa Susana Pass near the 118 Freeway in Simi Valley.
The flames broke out shortly after 10:24 on Wednesday evening.
High winds, which prompted the issue of Red Flag warnings throughout Southern California, have fire officials concerned about the flames spreading.
In addition to Los Angeles County Firefighters, the Ventura County Fire Department is reported to be on scene.
The fire had burned 10 acres by 11:15 p.m.
Firefighters emphasized structure protection shortly after 11 p.m.
Air drops were being made in an effort to contain the flames.
Motorists are advised to avoid Smith Road.
