Braggart Burglar Sentenced To 105 Years To Life
SANTA ANA (AP) — A career criminal has been sentenced to 105 years to life in prison after boasting to authorities that he had a master's degree in burglary.
The Orange County Register reports Jeremy Robert Bowles was sentenced Friday for multiple counts of burglary, grand theft and attempted murder of a policeman.
During trial last year, jurors saw videotapes on which Bowles joked and bragged about thousands of burglaries.
Bowles told detectives he used "Psychology 101" to understand the weaknesses of his victims and steal cars, televisions, credit cards and other things.
Bowles was free on bail and awaiting trial for a burglary spree when he shot at a Buena Park policeman investigating him for car theft in 2008.
Bowles also faces trial in Los Angeles on a separate attempted murder charge.
