Boy, 4, Dies After Falling From Third-Story Window

MARINA DEL REY (CBS) — A 4-year-old boy died after falling three stories from a window onto a concrete walkway in Marina Del Rey.

Police received a call at approximately 6:15 p.m. that a child had fallen from a third-story window at 13701 Marina Pointe Drive, an LAPD spokesperson reported.

"He placed his feet on the screen and ended up falling out," LAPD Capt. Jon Peters said.

Paramedics arrived to find Niko Laurie, 4, unconscious and barely breathing.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died about 2:45 a.m. on Monday, according to coroner's Chief Craig Harvey.

The death was being investigated as an accident.
