Boy, 14, Dies After Sherman Oaks House Fire
SHERMAN OAKS — A 14-year-old boy has died after he was rescued from a house fire in Sherman Oaks.
Eitan Djiji had been on life support since Tuesday after suffering burns and other injuries in the blaze. Three of his family members were also hospitalized at the Grossman Burn Center.
Djiji, a child actor from New Zealand, had moved to the area about four years ago.
Flames engulfed his family's two-story home by the time fire crews arrived around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters crawled through the house before finding the teen boy without a pulse atop a spiral staircase.
Four firefighters were injured fighting the blaze.
