Boy, 14, Charged As Adult In Murder Of 86-Year-Old Lancaster Woman
LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — A 14-year-old boy was has been charged as an adult in the murder of an elderly Lancaster woman, Los Angeles County District Attorney's officials said Tuesday.
Tony Donnell Brown was charged Monday with one count of murder and two counts of first-degree burglary in the death of 86-year-old Annie Margaret Bell. He also faces a special circumstances allegation that the murder was committed during a first-degree burglary and a special allegation that he used a knife.
Prosecutors say June broke into Bell's home in the 44600 block of Stillwater drive on June 18 and stabbed her several times while she lay in bed. He was arrested after being found hiding in the bushes near the victim's home.
If convicted as charged, Brown faces a possible maximum sentence of 26 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Brown, who is being held on $1 million bail, is scheduled to return to court on July 23 for arraignment.
