Boy, 12, Accused Of Making False Bomb Threat In Yucca Valley

YUCCA VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Deputies on Wednesday arrested a 12-year-old boy they suspect made a false bomb threat in Yucca Valley.

Deputies said a call was received at a Walmart store about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday by a caller threatening to "blow up" the store, the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Department said in a written statement.

The statement said deputies then received information which led them to suspect the boy, who attends La Contenta Middle School.

"During the investigation, deputies located the phone the call was made from while the 12-year-old male juvenile was riding the school bus home," the statement added.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of reporting a false bomb threat.

He has since been released to his parents.
