Body Of Missing OC Mother Of 3 Found In Dumpster
NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The body of a missing Newport Beach mother of three has been found in a Lakeside dumpster, according to authorities.
Peter Gregory Chadwick, 48, was charged with his wife's murder on Monday even though investigators had not yet found a body.
Detectives said there were obvious signs of a crime scene in the couple's home prompting his arrest.
Authorities believe Chadwick murdered his 46-year-old wife Quee Chadwick (AKA "Q.C.") on the morning of Oct. 10, 2012.
Detectives believe a fight over financial issues and a possible divorce led him to murder his wife.
On the afternoon of Oct. 10, neither Chadwick parent arrived at school to pick up the children.
Another concerned parent drove the children home and asked police to do a welfare check in the residence.
Detectives said they found signs of a struggle and blood stains.
Chadwick is accused of driving to San Diego and contacting the San Diego Police Department for assistance.
The defendant was arrested by Newport Beach Police.
Chadwick is being held on $1.5 million bail.
