Body Found Inside Cooler In Whittier Identified As Huntington Beach Woman
WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — A young woman whose decomposing body was found stuffed inside a cooler was identified Monday as a 19-year-old Huntington Beach woman.
Dawn McEveety was found hidden inside a large container in the rear cargo area of a red 1991 Toyota Celica Hatchback in the 8600 block of Bradwell Avenue Sunday after it was reported as an "abandoned vehicle" about 1:10 p.m.
"The cause of death appears to be a gunshot wound," Los Angeles County sheriff's officials said.
Deputies responding to the report immediately smelled the strong odor of decomposition and opened the vehicle, finding McEveety's body in a large cooler.
