Man's Body Discovered In Port Of Los Angeles

SAN PEDRO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Sunday were investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found floating in the water in the Port of Los Angeles.

The discovery was reported before just before noon Sunday at Cabrillo Marina Berth 31.

Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, says a person was found "lifeless in water."

According to a public information officer at the Port of Los Angeles, the person was described as a white male in his 40s.

Officials say they don't believe the incident to be a homicide.

No further information was available.
