Blog: Lakers Need Size, Quickly
Brad Gold (CBS) -- What a day in Southern California sports!
I wonder if there is anyone happier than James Loney, who could be charged with a DUI following a November crash in Sherman Oaks.
Loney gets buried in all the local sportscasts, behind the Angels signing Albert Pujols and CJ Wilson, Frank McCourt hitting a home run in a Delaware courtroom, Caron Butler signing with the Clippers and the Lakers acquiring CP3!
The Lakers get one of the most underrated players in the NBA, a 26-year-old point guard, who gave Lakers fans nightmares during the first round of the NBA playoffs last season.
Pairing up CP3 with Kobe Bryant will give Los Angeles one of the more formidable backcourts in the NBA and if nothing else, will make them entertaining to watch.
This deal puts tremendous pressure on Andrew Bynum, who is the Lakers only legitimate big-man on the roster, unless Emeka Okafor is included in the deal.
Don't forget Bynum is suspended for the first five games of the regular season, meaning the Lakers could be looking at Derrick Caracter as the starting center!
