Bishop Man Wanted For Domestic Violence, Child Abduction
NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a Northern California man wanted for allegedly hitting a woman and abducting his 13-month-old daughter.
Lucas Delany Huscher, of Bishop, is wanted on suspicion of Felony Domestic Violence, Felony Child Endangerment and Child Abduction, according to Newport Beach police.
According to authorities, the 31-year-old was visiting Newport Beach with a woman and his daughter when police responded to a domestic violence call around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of E. Bay Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found that Huscher had reportedly hit the woman several times, causing serious injury.
"The suspect then fled the area in his vehicle with his 13 month old daughter, Autumn Lee Huscher," police said in a statement.
While attempting to flee the scene, Huscher was involved in a minor traffic accident at 15th Street and West Balboa Boulevard, said officials.
He then ditched his vehicle and fled the area on foot with the child, according to police.
"Newport Beach Police Officers investigating the incident were initially in contact with suspect Huscher via telephone, however communications have recently ceased and he has failed to comply with requests to turn himself in to the nearest Police Department," officials said.
He has been in Santa Paula, Filmore, Bodfish, and Lake Isabella, California since Sunday's incident.
On Wednesday, Huscher turned his daughter over to a family member living in Bullhead City, Arizona. The child appears to be unharmed and in good condition, authorities said.
He was last seen at the Riverside Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada.
Huscher is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo of a cross on his right shoulder and a scar on his stomach, police said.
