Billingsley Scratched From Start, Gets MRI On Elbow
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Chad Billingsley has been scratched from Sunday's start against the San Diego Padres because of a sore elbow, and lefty Chris Capuano was bumped up a day in the rotation to take his place.
Billingsley is 4-9 with a 4.30 ERA in 18 starts. In his last five outings, he is 0-5 with a 6.21 ERA. He underwent an MRI exam Sunday and left Dodger Stadium without talking to reporters.
Capuano last pitched July 8, so he still had six days between starts because of the All-Star break.
If Billingsley needs to go on the disabled list, the Dodgers could recall John Ely.
