Big Rig Fire Temporarily Closes Southbound 405 Freeway In The Sepulveda Pass
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A big rig fire prompted authorities to close the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass for about a half-hour Tuesday, authorities said.
The big rig caught fire around 1 p.m. near Skirball Center Drive. CHP officials say the truck's cab became fully engulfed after a fire started in the engine compartment.
The fast lane of the northbound 405 was also closed while the fire was extinguished. No one was injured.
The big rig was carrying 7,500 pounds of scrap metal.
