WB 210 Freeway Reopens After Fiery Big Rig Crash In La Crescenta
LA CRESCENTA (CBSLA.com) — A crash involving two big rigs prompted the closure of westbound lanes of the Foothill (210) Freeway early Tuesday morning.
The accident happened just after midnight between Pennsylvania Avenue and Lowell Boulevard in La Crescenta, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to officials, the driver of a big rig slowed down on the freeway for unknown mechanical reasons and was hit by another tractor trailer carrying a load of wooden pallets.

The second truck caught on fire, but the driver was able to escape with minor injuries.
"There's quite a bit of fuel that was left in the tank, so the big rig that caught on fire, we've had to pump the fuel from that before we can move it," Officer Sean Lough said.
Two westbound lanes were reopened just before 6:30 a.m. and the entire freeway reopened around 7:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
No other injuries were reported.
