Big Rig Carrying Peppers Overturns, Causes Delays On 5, 134 Freeways
GLENDALE (CBSLA.com) — Commuters Tuesday faced delays on Interstate 5 due to an overturned big rig near Griffith Park.
The truck, which was carrying green peppers, rolled over at 11:50 p.m. Monday, blocking two lanes on the southbound side of the road, as well as the transition road from the eastbound 134 Freeway to the 5, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reopened the southbound lanes at 7 a.m. and the transition road was cleared 15 minutes later.
No injuries were reported, according to the CHP.
It is still unclear as to what caused the truck to overturn.
