Big Rig, Car Collide On 210 Leaving 1 Critical

AZUSA (CBS) — At least one person was critically injured after a big rig and sedan collided Tuesday evening on the 210 Freeway.

The eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Azusa is blocked by the crash that occured just east of Citrus Avenue, says California Highway Patrol Officer Krystal Carter.

A helicopter landed near the crash scene and one patient was taken aboard.

Justin Jaeger, reporting overhead in Sky 9, said the victim was "very critical."

The victim was believed to be a female.

It is not known if she was the driver or passenger in the sedan.

The helicopter is en route to a hospital, Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor Ed Pickett says.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Traffic on the 210 will be tied up for some time, said Jaeger.
