Bieber Wins Big At American Music Awards
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Are you a Belieber yet?
Justin Bieber was the big winner at Sunday's 40th annual American Music Awards. But if you're a Justin Bieber fan you already knew that.
In all, Bieber won three awards including the Artist of the Year prize (the night's most prestigious honor), favorite male Pop/Rock artist and for favorite Pop/Rock Album for "Believe."
For his final award of the evening, Bieber pulled his ever-youthful mother on stage with him.
Nicki Minaj, soon to be seen as a judge on "American Idol," was the night's only other multiple winner. Minaj was chosen favorite female Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and won the favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album category ("Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded").
Other winners included Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Beyonce, Usher and Linkin Park. Katy Perry was selected favorite female Pop/Rock Artist.
Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen won the New Artist of the Year honor to the surprise of ... no one. Her "Call Me Maybe" was one of the summer's biggest hits and was #1 for nine weeks.
The night also included a tribute to the late Dick Clark, the producer/TV icon who created the American Music Awards.
Winners were chosen from a fan ballot.
