Bicyclist Killed After Collision With FedEx Truck In Fullerton
FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) —A bicyclist was killed Thursday after being hit by a FedEx delivery truck in Fullerton.
The unidentified victim, who police described as a woman in her early 20s, was riding east shortly before 2:20 p.m. when she collided with the truck at Nutwood Avenue and Ladera Vista Road.
"The truck was traveling northbound on Ladera Vista Road. At the intersection of Nutwood, he was preparing to make a left turn to go westbound on Nutwood. It appears from what witnesses have told us so far is that the cyclist was traveling eastbound on Nutwood Avenue. At this point, it appears the driver didn't see the cyclist. There is nothing that indicates criminal wrongdoing," said Fullerton police Sgt. Jeff Stuart.
Stuart told CBS2's Michele Gile that the woman was not wearing a helmet.
The investigation is ongoing.
